Whether you want to learn to play, become a master, or participate in league tournaments, join the SDLAX HPL Chess Club!

Choose either to work independly through the HPL Chess Club Module or join chesskid.com

SDLAX HPL will once again be running a chess club this year through chesskid.com. This is open to all students in all grades.  To join the club, interested chess players should complete the registration form below. Their building's HPL teacher will receive login information to share with the student. Once you join, you will be to learn, play, and solve puzzles in ChessKid. You can also play other SDLAX students! More information on these event to come!

What is Chess Kid?

NEW!! 2024-2025 HPL CHESS CHALLENGE

WHAT:

• Test your chess knowledge! Answer questions and solve chess related problems!

WHO:

• All elementary and middle schools students may participate in the HPL Chess Challenge.
• Students participate individually.

STRUCTURE:
There will be 2 rounds. Students will have until May 15 to complete both rounds. 
Round one: September 15 to February 1
Round two: February 1 to May 15
GUIDELINES: 

• Each round consists of 10 or more questions.
• Students will have 1 minute per question to answer.
• Students first try will officially count.  
• Students will accumulate points throughout the competition. 
• Top finishers will be recognized at the conclusion of the event. Must Complete both rounds to be eligible for awards and accurately complete the name, grade, and school questions within the challenge.
