ABOUT THE THE MATT HESSEL-MIAL WRITING COMPETITION
In his eight years, Matt Hessel -Mial had the most fun writing stories he made up. MAD LIBS is an entertaining way to learn and perfect the eight parts of speech in the English language: noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection. The part of speech indicates how the word functions in meaning as well as grammatically within the sentence.​ (Click here to check it out!). 


Learn about and apply the Hero's Journey! In narratology and comparative mythology, the hero's quest or hero's journey is the common template of stories that involve a hero who goes on an adventure, is victorious in a decisive crisis, and comes home changed or transformed.
